This week the team had many discussions on what we wanted our final business plan to look like. By this point we had already considered: - Non-profit business plan maintained by council. - Crowd funding - Offering advertising upfront to companies Non of which had proved successful. Disadvantages in non profit business plan. We had decided not to go with the non profitable business structure because it seemed like a project that will take a lot of man power to sustain and the effort that was put in over powered the reward it gave. Relying on grants, advertising payments, and the dragons contributions did not seem like a solid structure especially when it came to repayments for the dragons. Week 8 Pitch Social and mental wellbeing is heavily effected by activities such as social port. the problem we found was there was a lack of people who had the 'base' or enough people they knew that were sporting enthusiasts. Therefore not being able to go and play sport socially or causally as frequently a they would have liked. Wellington is a creative and business oriented city with incoming designers and business students coming through the city each year.  We went out and conducted a survey into the local wellington community and asked how often people participated in casual sporting activity and majority saying they did occasionally or regularly whilst a large portion said that they never did.  We then asked why don't you participate in casual sporting activities and the most answered was that they didn't know people to play causal sporting activities with alongside not knowing locations or owning the equipment to go and play any casual sport. ...

Feedback from class Given advice for a business model to sell idea to dragons with increasing profit margins The idea was all the bulk costs comes from app development and advertising, but then maintenance costs level out and become constant. This gives the revenue a chance to rise and end up making profit. This profit structure model shows the initial expenditure that would be needed to develop the app then the spiked of expenditure represent introducing the app into other regions of the country or cities around the world -  these would mainly be advertising fees and communication with potential sponsors that would provide us with information such as sports facilities and a user-base that would be interested in the use of the app. The Vertical/Horizontal lines represent the revenue generation that would be seen from introducing the app to other cities around the world. this would be a consistent growth as revenue streams would come in from these cities whilst the cost...

Discussions with: Wellington City Council Wellington Academy Football City council meeting At the beginning of week 5 we set up a meeting with the wellington city council. this was to discuss the feasibility of our idea and potential funding. The Wellington City Council was very interested in our idea of a social sporting platform. This was due to it promoting community wellbeing and the community coming together. The council gave us there fully support, and offered to potentially help maintain the app after its completion using there in house team of developers. However, they said they couldn't fund us the start up costs as all council money is rate payer money and gets allocated to selected areas. They also stated they could make this app themselves using there in house developers and web designers, but it would take years as they are very busy. This particular target audience applies to us as a group because we all have had situations where we wanted to play some social sport with people but different factors prevented us from doing so. Wellington has a good population of students as they host multiple Universities and tertiary institutions. Planning business canvas. Place original business canvas . Initially we had two ideas: - Idea 1 being App to connect people to play social sport that's sends out notifications to users near by and shows near by locations of venues. - Idea 2 being a sports equipment vending machine This would be placed at council sporting facilities around NZ allowing people in cities to play at these facilities with out having to bring their own gear with them. Instead paying a small fee to hire equipment from a 'vending machine'. This created several issues we needed to solve: A major issue was deciding how we would charge our users. The idea was all about connecting people who didn't know each other to participate in a game of social sport. Promoting people to get active with like minded others for the benefit of physical and mental well being.
